What's new on Paddle

You can now create paid trials in Paddle Billing. This means customers pay a trial charge at signup, then move onto the full recurring price when the trial ends.

Paid trials can help reduce trial abuse, qualify higher-intent users, and charge for trial access without needing custom billing logic.

How to set up a paid trial

1. Create a new price in your catalog.
2. Set the trial type to Paid.
3. Choose your trial duration and trial charge amount.
4. Use the price ID in Checkout as normal.

Once set up, Paddle will collect the trial charge at signup and move the customer onto the full recurring price when the trial ends.
